![]() Past Events The objective of our Public Awareness Campaign is to spread awareness of Thalassaemia to general public, to carry out screening of the carriers, and ultimately, to minimize the birth rate of Thalassaemia Major babies in Sarawak. Our activities include public lectures, exhibitions & road shows, blood screening and circulation of Newsletters. Educational Talks Our initial stage of the Campaign was targeting high school and college students. The coordinators Stephanie Wan Ullok, Violeta Chan and Catherine Sia had been working very hard to contact various schools in Kuching to set up the Educational Talk and blood screening programs. A few members of the Kuching Hornbill Toastmaster Club had volunteered to be our public speakers. With all the materials and slides provided by the Sarawak Thlassaemia Society, these speakers whom were trained by Dunstan Chan and accompanied by our medical advisors, had successfully accomplished their missions at the following schools: 1998 Campaign
1999 Campaign
2000 Campaign
